Went a bit mad with the recessed lights and put them in the wall up the stairs, they look ok though I think, and you don't have to turn them on do you? Maybe need a smaller wattage bulb.

My Father and I started plaster boarding the ceiling on Saturday, it's now Sunday evening and we've very nearly finished, just the little end corner left to do tomorrow morning. Then a few patches and a few holes to fill and the seams to tape up and plaster, and it's done. The recessed ceiling lights are all in and looking good. Bathroom floor and stud wall will be next I think.

Fitted the suspended loo today, not plumbed in yet but it's in place. My father has completed all the upstairs wiring, so will be plaster boarding the whole upstairs over the weekend. It'll feel like I'm getting somewhere then hopefully.

Heated some soup (pumpkin!) on the log burner today for lunch. I've had some little visitors to the house in the night, little buggers have been chewing my beams, rats I think, they must like the linseed oil.

With the snow and I've had a few days work so not had a great deal of time at the house, but I've been chasing out the walls for the electrics, the lighting and the sockets. Also putting some recessed lights in the stair wall too. Getting ready for this week end when the plasterboard will be going up, finally!

Managed to get to the house yesterday, in between the snow to do a little bit of work, but it snowed again today and can't get there again. It's expected to last all week so won't get much done.

It's also too cold for the plaster to dry, I've been experimenting with lime plaster mixes on the walls but it won't dry in these temperatures. It does look beautiful there though! Looking forward to the snow next year when I'm moved in, with a stew heating on the little log burner.

Here are a few shots from earlier in the year, just as a little reminder.

Finished the insulation last week. I've started on the electrics, just putting the wiring in place ready for the plaster boarding upstairs. Lit the wood burner today too, just to check the flue was working ok, didn't leave it on long, but it'll certainly heat the room up when it gets going.

I've not made a great deal of progress in the last week really. I've oiled all the beams that will be visable upstairs once the plaster boarding is complete also insulated most of the roof, another few hours work will complete that. Then I need to put up rails for the plaster board and the plaster board itself. I'll get the insulation finished before Christmas.
